A village post office ought to be a friendly, welcoming place. However, this is such a disappointment for such a lovely village generally due to the woman behind counter who is particularly brusque and unhelpful. If you ask for a price she will ALWAYS quote you the First Class price and not mention Second Class. Even if you ask for the Second Class price she will still only quote the First Class! Heard of many residents make similar negative comments about this person. The Halton Camp Stores post office is so much more customer-focussed and friendly and I would now always go there instead.

I had the unfortunate case to meet the most unintelligent individual in Wendover that works at this post office. The Asian looking women has no concept of using common sense, or the ability to read the situation and reacting accordingly. I took in a parcel that is awkward shaped, it cannot stand on the scales by itself. I very gently put my finger on top to hold it steady for her, but NOOOOOO "the post office rules says you cannot do that" she tells me (rules are in fact guideline to help you do your job! not make you unhelpful) However it was okay for me to lean my parcel against a glass barrier on the other scales, even though the leaning causes friction and reduces the weight compared to my finger steadying the item which causing extra weight that I'm happy to pay for. This person doesn't deserve their job, and I'll never step foot in this shop/post office again as long as she works there. FWIW I went to the post office up the road in Halton, and excellent service there along with good common sense.
V polite over the phone & in person. Helpful, friendly service that thought about my travel insurance needs before I did. Recommended.
I like these guys - lived here 18 months, been in about 5 times, never found them to be anything but pleasant. Feel like the other reviews have had bad experienced, or maybe gone into a post office in a rush. Never a good idea, no matter which branch you try.
