It's quite nice here the food in the cafe is nice and there is a lot of nice things in the shops to mooch around but the staff stress you, they all seemed stressed and stressed me out when I was trying to choose what to have for lunch. There wasn't a queue there was no need to rush me and my kids.

I decided to try this garden centre for a Father Christmas visit this year. We arrived 11:45 Thursday morning on a day when the kids were still at school and paid 12 to visit the Christmas walk and grotto. Staff said it was a 1 hour wait to meet santa but it was actually 2hours 15minutes. Nowhere to sit, elderly people with grandkids standing for over 2 hours. We came out at 14:15 hungry and went to the cafe to find they were shutting down the for day and had limited food (cheese and tomato toastie only for vegetarians). Unhappy and hungry child. There was nothing actually wrong about the grotto and staff but management should have sorted out a better system than this as it's simply unacceptable. We will not visit again; our local garden centre has a nice little grotto where you either go straight in or wait at a table with colouring in for 10minutes - it's also half the price. So never again will we visit here.

Our most recent visit was a depressing experience. It was near Christmas (well, early December) so the unpatrolled car park was a nightmare with cars dumped everywhere, and much of the car parking is simply a muddy field. There are massive gaps in stock all over the place, prices missing, rubbish on the floors and multiple broken items on display. The prices are extortionate for what you are getting. I found an identical doorstop I had purchased elsewhere new for 6; Wyevale are charging 15! In the Christmas department there was absolutely nothing special or interesting, just the same generic stuff you find anywhere. We also noticed that every artificial tree we looked at had an out of stock sign on it, despite the tree being right there in front of you.The restaurant struggled with demand so was clearly understaffed. No menus, trays, teaspoons, plates or cutlery and empty fridges. The teapots were filthy and chipped. Staff behind the till were rude and made us feel like an inconvenience for being there. In short it feels very obviously corporate and unloved, it has none of the charm of an independent or family owned garden centre.

Dinner was really good with Santa but would of been nice if they played Christmas songs to make it a bit more Christmassy .

We LOVE this garden centre it is HUGE and has an amazing selection of products, a MASSIVE array of activities and interests to keep all members of an enquiring family busy! A stunning butchery, green grocer, coffee shop AND restaurant, plants, decor, gifts, clothes and SO MUCH MORE!!! Go have a look
